Mattress usage and Maintenance
Proper mattress usage and care can extend the usage life of your mattress and provide the comfort and quality sleep your guests deserve. Please follow our instructions carefully to prevent any damage to the mattress.
Opening the exterior packaging
When opening the packaging, please place the mattress on the ground (do not place it on another mattress that is already open as it may dirty the mattress) and check if the packaging is damaged. If damaged, it could mean that the interior is damaged as well.
Please do not overlook this process as it may cause damage to your mattress.
1. Use a scissors to cut open the straps. Do not pull open by force;
2. When opening the packaging, please use a scissors to cut open the plastic wrapping or pull out the adhesive tape manually. Do not use any sharp object to open the wrapping as it may damage the mattress inside;
3. When removing the packaging, please make sure that the mattress inside does not come in contact with the exterior packaging as it may dirty the mattress
4. When handling the mattress, please ensure that the workers hands are clean or wearing gloves to prevent dirtying the mattress.
When first opening the packaging, there might be an odor emitting out. Please keep the rooms well-ventilated and the odor will be dissipated over some time. Please rest assure that these odor are not harmful to the human health, and all materials used by King Koil meets China safety and hygiene regulations.
Dispose the exterior packaging appropriately
King Koil usually uses cardboard paper or plastic wrapping to pack the mattress. If these packaging materials are no longer needed, please dispose of them appropriately.
Cardboard paper can be reused or recycled. Please give them to recycling plants to be recycled. Preventing resource wastage can help build a better environment for the world.
Plastic wrapping is needed to package the mattress to give it better protection. When planning to discard them, please give (or sell) to individuals or organization that has the ability to dispose of them accordingly without causing environmental pollution.
Placement of mattress
Please do not place the mattress in a newly renovated room. As these rooms usually will still contain the smell of construction materials, it could easily be absorbed by the mattress materials causing discomfort to you or your hotel guests.
We recommend that you keep the guest room well ventilated first before moving the mattress in. Once the construction smell has disperse, then move the mattress in. King Koil will bear no responsibility for any resulting problems related to the lack of ventilation.
When moving or placing the mattress, please arrange for 2 or more workers to do so. Gently lift the mattress from the bottom of both sides and not from anywhere else. Do not lift the mattress using the edge as this might cause damage to the fabric or seams.
Note: Mattress handles are not designed to lift the mattress in any way. Due to the weight of the mattress, handles may break if used to lift the mattress.
Before placing the mattress, please ensure that the foundation is already that doesn’t belong to King Koil, please check with our sales person if its suitable for usage. Any damage caused by unsuitable foundation will not be warranted under our guarantee.
Daily Usage
To maximize the life span and comfort level of your mattress, please note the following:
1. Use a better quality mattress protector. This will prevent any stains or spillage from soiling the mattress. Wash and change the mattress protector and linens regularly and dust or clean the mattress surface when needed.
2. Do not fold or bend the mattress as this will damage the spring system in the mattress, thus affecting the comfort level of mattress;
3. Please do not stand or jump on the mattress. This may cause the structure of the spring system to change shape, damaging the support effect, thus causing the mattress to sag downwards;
4. If the mattress is stained, please do not use inappropriate method to clean the mattress as it may cause the fabric to change colour, harden or loosen. If unsure, call in professional help;
5. Refrain from using any sharp objects or jagged edge near or on the mattress surface to prevent any damage to the fabric;
6. Refrain from placing any hot materials such as hot iron on the mattress. This may cause the fabric to burn and harden or crack;
7. The ventilators by the side of the mattress are to ventilate the interior of the mattress. Please do not use any object to block these ventilator as it can prevent the growth of bacteria or dust mites in your mattress.
8. If your hotel guests have pets with them in the rooms, please inform them to take care of the pets and not cause any damage to the mattresses;
9. Prevent using any inferior cleaning or corrosive agent directly on the mattress;
10. Please keep any hot objects at least 40cm away from the mattress and avoid any direct sunlight. This may cause discolouration or damage to the fabric.
11. If any loose thread is discovered, please do not pull out the thread but use a scissor to cut off the thread as neatly as possible.
